Top pick
Husqvarna Automower 115H
Husqvarna
Best overall for pet owners. 4-acre (17,000 sq ft) coverage and PIN-protected lift sensor with immediate blade shutoff. One caveat, does not detect or avoid pet waste on its own.
- 0.4-acre (17,000 sq ft) coverage
- PIN-protected lift sensor with immediate blade shutoff
- Quiet operation rated well below typical gas mower noise
- Scheduling app to avoid peak pet outdoor time
- Boundary wire keeps the mower out of marked no-go zones
Pros
- Immediate blade stop on lift or tilt is a genuine, well-safety mechanism
- Quiet operation is noticeably less startling to nervous pets than louder competitors
- App scheduling makes it easy to run mowing sessions when pets are indoors
- Boundary wire can fence off a dog run or garden bed as a permanent no-go zone
Cons
- Does not detect or avoid pet waste on its own
- Some dogs still need a supervised adjustment period regardless of noise level
- 0.4-acre ceiling limits it to smaller yards
