Foam Retention After 12 Months
The most important long-term question about any foam-seated chair: does the foam compress over time?
After 12 months of 8-hour daily use: no perceptible softening of the seat base or backrest foam.
I pressed into the original uncompressed areas of the seat (the front lip, which is rarely contacted) and compared to the center of the seat w here I sit, they feel identical.
Cold-cure foam, which Secretlab uses, is more resistant to compression than the standard polyurethane foam in budget gaming chairs.
Integrated Lumbar System
The TITAN Evo has an adjustable lumbar support that extends from with in the chair back.
Two adjustments: vertical position (height along the back) and depth (how far it protrudes).
Setup took 15 minutes to find the right position: lumbar support at approximately L3-L4 vertebra height, protruding approximately 2cm.
After adjustment: no lower back discomfort during 6-8 hour sessions.
4D Armrests: Daily Use Observations
The 4D armrests (height, depth, side-to-side, pivot angle) required approximately 1 week of adjustment before finding the position that supported my forearms correctly for typing.
Final position: arms dropped to approximately 26cm from the floor, slid forward 2cm from the default depth, width at shoulder-width, pivot angled inward approximately 5 degrees.
After 12 months: no loosening of the adjustment mechanisms.
The armrests hold position through significant weight shifting.
SoftWeave Plus Fabric After 12 Months
I ordered the SoftWeave Plus version rather than leatherette.
Appearance: fabric shows wrinkles in the seat areas w here weight has been applied consistently.
Not visually offensive, but visible.
Texture: no pilling or surface wear.
Assembly Time
Assembly with two people: approximately 30 minutes.
Solo assembly: approximately 45 minutes.
The piston and base assembly requires holding the chair at an awkward angle, a second person makes this significantly easier.
Customer Service Experience
At 8 months of use, I noticed a minor squeak from the tilt mechanism.
Contacted Secretlab support via live chat, resolution: they shipped a replacement tilt mechanism with in 3 business days.
No cost, no return required.
The replacement resolved the issue.
The $499 Question
DXRacer foam compression reduces the chair's functional value with in 12 months.
For gaming (recline, headrest use, controller gaming): the TITAN Evo is a better fit.
If you do both in the same chair: this is a genuine choice between the two.
For a user who games 4+ hours per day and wants a chair that holds its shape and support for 3+ years: the TITAN Evo is justified.
